We have found osteopathy to benefit people who
suffer with seizures in a number of ways.
- Reduce side effects of medication, for example improve
alertness and concentration.
- Reduce toxicity, especially within the gut.
- Help with learning difficulties and behavioural problems
associated with seizures or anti-convulsant medication.
- Reduce seizure activity.
Phil:
Phil has been diagnosed with myoclonic jerks associated with
a cyst within the left temporal lobe. He also has problems with
language and communication. When I first met Phil, he wandered
aimlessly around the treatment room, in a world of his own. He
had no eye contact and was very quiet and withdrawn.
By the 6th visit, he was talking a lot more and appeared to
be more expressive. The seizures had also become milder. We
continued to treat Phil, helping his body to cope better with
the medication he was on and reduce the irritability throughout
his body. After further treatment, he has become more alert,
and is now very lively and animated. He is communicating better
and making more of an effort to interact with others. His
seizures vary especially with illness, but having had numerous
seizures each week, he now gets on average, 1 seizure every 5
weeks. |
